Goals for March 26-April 1, 2017

This week I’m diving deeper in to a new project. This means there will likely not be a new post in the Health or Business category, as that time will go to doing research.

Goals for this week:

  • Add a relevant person to LinkedIn and Twitter – target sports management people
  • Update Feedly feeds to include sports management and youth sports
  • Share article on Linked In and Twitter
  • Post “Two Reasons” on Twitter and Linked In
  • Begin PLANe process

How did last week’s goals go:

  • Publish weekly goals
  • Add a relevant person to LinkedIn and Twitter
  • Comment on a Feedly article
  • Comment on a LinkedIn article or post
  • Comment on a Twitter post
  • Post “Email Segment” on Twitter and Linked In
  • Publish another Phase I post and compare to the first one

Not a ton to cross off from the past week. The new content approach is pretty fun to do and I’m finding that I’d rather spend time working on that. However, I’ve still got to build a network and pay attention to what is going on.

Finished my first open and pretty happy about that. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Not the workouts, I knew those would be brutal. But since I could never find a judge to validate my scores, it was completely on me to set up all the video meeting standards. Which I didn’t do a very good job with. But if you want to check them out, click here for all five on YouTube.

Been great to be able to knock out a bunch of yard work over the weekend. Hoping the sun stays out!

Goals for the year

  • Run a sub 6 minute mile (start of this year is 6:23)
  • Get Fran time under 5:30 (start of this year is 6:05)
  • Validate a new idea via the Will It Fly process
  • Volunteer in Katy’s K class twice and in her first grade class twice
  • Volunteer in Matthew’s K class twice
  • Read or listen to 6 books (Extreme Ownership, Start With Why, The 10X Rule, The Four Hour Work Week, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Distruptive Marketing, Buy Buttons)

Goals for this quarter

  • Compete in The Open (Master’s Division)
  • Begin an aerobic program
  • Take a paid marketing course of some sort to see what a program looks like
  • Begin the Will It Fly process to validate course idea
  • Put together the outline of a basic training course for digital marketing and find one business to try it out
  • Find a day in April to volunteer at Katy’s class
  • Finish Extreme Ownership
  • Pick a new book to read
  • Run a mile in under 6:15
  • Decide if Twitter is a better medium than Instagram
  • Find a way to integrate video in to one of my company’s properties and see what kind of impact it has (spring BAM Jam? Instagram Stories?)
  • Continue to build network
