Goals for May 28-June 3, 2017

On our way to Great Falls, Montana! This will be the last road trip for the next few weeks with nothing scheduled until mid-July. Great chance to get back in to a routine and test out some new project ideas.

Thank you to all the veterans that are allowing me to type this right now. We know that freedom isn’t free and that you paid for it for us. It was really cool to show my kids the tribute field in my home town last night and to start explaining the concept of protecting and serving your country, even if you don’t personally know the people you are keeping safe.

Goals for this week:

  • Publish weekly goals
  • Add a relevant person to LinkedIn and Twitter – target sports management people
  • Share “Content Curation and Content Calendar”

  • Final testing for Building Aerobic Capacity

How did last week’s goals go:

  • Publish weekly goals
  • Add a relevant person to LinkedIn and Twitter – target sports management people
  • Share “Content Curation”
  • Publish “Content Calendar”
  • Final testing for Building Aerobic Capacity

Testing week is done! Nailed both the mile and Fran so I’m pretty stoked about the 12 week aerobic program I built. Plus, I got Murph down to 46:32, about 3 minutes faster than last year.

Also got the yard looking decent this past weekend. There probably is nothing as boring as reading about yard work. Yet there is some real satisfaction in getting things looking good. Still have a couple of sprinkler zones that need to get automated but ultimately I like the direction things are going.

Goals for this quarter:

  • Finish aerobic program
  • Finish Robie Creek
  • Build and begin Open Weaknesses Program
  • Volunteer in Katy’s class
  • Read / Listen to three books (Shoe Dog, Known)
  • Put together the outline of a basic training course
  • Run a mile in under 6:15 (hit 6:11)
  • Continue to build network

Goals for the year

  • Run a sub 6 minute mile (start of this year is 6:23)
  • Get Fran time under 5:30 (start of this year is 6:05, finished at 4:48)
  • Validate a new idea via the Will It Fly process
  • Volunteer in Katy’s K class twice and in her first grade class twice
  • Volunteer in Matthew’s K class twice
  • Read or listen to 6 books (Extreme Ownership, Start With Why, The 10X Rule, The Four Hour Work Week, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Disruptive Marketing, Buy Buttons, Shoe Dog, Known)
